Our map takes a fresh look at 40 striking and ground-breaking concrete legends in architecture from 1912 to the present day. Photographed by Karin Bürki, it brings together early masterpieces such as St Anthony’s Church and the Goetheanum, alongside key brutalist icons from the 1960s and 1970s. Contemporary reinterpretations combine bold design and climate awareness. Maurerhalle – one of the world’s finest concrete origami – stars as a poster on the back.
Each object is featured with a picture. The legend lists key data – construction period, architects, location and nearest tram stop. An introduction in German and English adds additional insights. The map on the detachable cover provides easy navigation.
With its striking images, flexible format and extra-thick paper, Carte Brute Basel makes a perfect and inspiring travel companion. Take it with you on your next city trip or use it as a poster at home or in the office.
